Effects of Exogenous Application of Plant Growth Regulators (SNP and GA3) on Phytoextraction by Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) Grown in Lead (Pb) Contaminated Soil

چکیده
Soil lead (Pb) contamination is a major environmental and public health risk. Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum), second-generation biofuel crop, potentially useful for the long-term phytoremediation phytoextraction of Pb contaminated soils. We evaluated efficacy coordinated foliar application plant growth regulators soil fungicide chelator in order to optimize phytoextraction. Plants were grown culture under controlled conditions. First, three exogenous nitric oxide (NO) donors at multiple concentrations: (1) S-nitroso-N-acetylpenicillamine (SNAP); (2) sodium nitroprusside (SNP); (3) S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO). Second, effect SNP (0.5 ?M) was examined further with model chelate EDTA propicanazole. Third, combined gibberellic acid (GA3) The propiconazole (a broad-spectrum fungicides) reduced AMF colonization allowed greater resulted similar concentrations (roots foliage) plants that challenged chelates fungicides. GA3 significantly average concentration (243 mg kg?1) foliage comparison control (182 treated alone (202 kg?1). greatest efficiency could therefore improve by switchgrass

The improved phytoextraction of lead (Pb) and the growth of maize (Zeamays L.): the role of plant growth regulators (GA3 and IAA) and EDTA alone and in combinations.
This investigation was made to examine the role of gibberellic acid (GA(3)), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and EDTA in improving phytoextraction of the Pb and plant growth on Pb added soil. GA(3), IAA and EDTA were applied separately and in combinations. GA(3) and IAA were applied as foliar spray and seed soaking. EDTA was applied in single and split doses. Analysis of the Pb in different parts of...

متن کاملPollen Viability and Longevity of Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.)
Pollen is essential for seed production and serves as the primary means of gene flow in outcrossing species like switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.). There is a lack of information on basic pollen biology in switchgrass. This study investigated pollen viability, pollen longevity, and pollen size using different materials, including the tetraploid cultivar Alamo, the octoploid cultivar Cave-in-Roc...

Although yield trials for switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.), a potentially high value biofuel feedstock crop, are currently underway throughout North America, the genetic tools for crop improvement in this species are still in the early stages of development. Identification of high-density molecular markers, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), that are amenable to high-throughput ge...

The effects of salt-alkaline mixed stress on switchgrass were investigated by evaluating seed germination and the proline, malondialdehyde (MDA) and soluble sugar contents in three switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) cultivars in order to identify which can be successfully produced on marginal lands affected by salt-alkaline mixed stress. The experimental conditions consisted of four levels of sa...
